Trick Your Brain into Success: Lessons from Language Models like GPT
Context Hacking to Reach Your Goals For the New Year
Happy New Year to the Neuro Evolution Community!
Have you ever noticed how AI makes decisions? It's fascinating - each choice is based on the context around it, like predicting the next word in a sentence based on what came before. This got me thinking about how we can "hack" our own decision-making process in the same way.
Let me share a personal story. Last year, with expecting a newborn, I set what seemed like an impossible goal: CrossFit three times a week. But I discovered something powerful - just like AI needs the right context to make accurate predictions, we need the right environment to make better choices.
Instead of focusing on the workout, I started with the smallest possible step: getting in the car. Once there, the next step felt natural - "Well, I'm already here..." This "context chain" made each decision easier than the last. It's exactly how AI Language models work - one prediction leading naturally to the next.
I've applied this everywhere now. Want to avoid that extra beer? I only buy one at the store VS. a 6 pack. Need to start writing? I just open the document - no pressure to type. Each small action creates the context for the next success.
Think about your goals for 2025. What's the tiniest first step you could take? What context could you set up to make the next step almost inevitable?
Share your thoughts - I'd love to hear your "context hacks".
P.S. Remember, even AI starts with small predictions before tackling bigger ones. Start tiny - you've got this!
